Scarlet Monastery
Quests: level 33–40 · 10 players · Tirisfal Glades 85.1, 31.4
Groups seeking Scarlet Crusade equipment and Library quest books can tackle Scarlet Monastery a wing at a time, with room for up to 10 players. Complete the Library before the locked wings if nobody has The Scarlet Key. A full clear ends in the Cathedral, where Whitemane revives Mograine and the group must fight them together.

Preparation
Bring The Scarlet Key for the Armory and Cathedral doors. If nobody has it, finish the Library and collect it from Doan's Strongbox before returning to the monastery's entrance hall. The Graveyard and Library entrances do not require this key.
Collect Mythology of the Titans in Ironforge before entering the Library. Retrieve the book from the Library shelves and return it to Ironforge for Explorers' League Commendation.
Check Sage Truthseeker in Thunder Bluff for Compendium of the Fallen before a Library run. Bring the book back for a choice of Vile Protector, Forcestone Buckler or Omega Orb.
Have Hearts of Zeal active from Undercity before clearing the Scarlet Crusade enemies. Collect 20 Hearts of Zeal during those pulls; a run confined to the Graveyard's undead does not cover that objective.
Reach Parqual Fintallas's Test of Lore assignment in Undercity before visiting the Library. This step asks for Beginnings of the Undead Threat, so collect that book while passing through the shelves.
Take Rituals of Power before the Library run if it is part of your class quest chain. Recover the book there and take it to Dustwallow Marsh; defeating Doan alone does not complete the book objective.
Accept Past Due before visiting Doan's Library. Recover The Lost Magic of the Runemasters for a choice between Salve and Salvation and Knucklebound Thimble.
Pick up Vorrel's Revenge in the Graveyard's interrogation room after dealing with Vishas. Its wedding-ring errand continues outside the monastery and ends in Tarren Mill. The rewards include Vorrel's Boots and a choice between Mantle of Woe and Grimsteel Cape.
Arrange a separate visit for The Eye of Bhossca. It requires infiltrating the monastery alone, recovering the Eye and returning it to the dead drop near Pyrewood Village; a group wing clear is not that quest's route.
Graveyard
Use the leftmost wing entrance. Clear the interrogation rooms around Vishas, then follow the passage into the cemetery. Descend into the crypt for Thalnos, clearing its occupants before starting his fire attacks in the confined room.
Creatures
- Scarlet TorturerElite Humanoid
Scarlet Torturers add Immolate burns in the interrogation rooms. Finish them before engaging Vishas so their Fire damage does not overlap his Shadow Word: Pain on the same pull.

Immolate
Burns an enemy, then inflicts additional Fire damage every 3 sec. for 21 seconds.

Interrogator Vishas
Elite HumanoidVishas's Shadow Word: Pain adds sustained Shadow damage to an interrogation-room pull that becomes harder if a Torturer's Immolate is still active.
Abilities

Shadow Word: Pain
Utters a word of darkness, inflicting Shadow damage to an enemy every 3 sec. for 18 seconds.
Remove Shadow Word: Pain with a friendly magic dispel when available; otherwise keep healing its target after the initial melee damage is covered.
Tank- Finish clearing the Scarlet Torturers before committing to Vishas. If one remains, keep it controlled so Immolate does not compound Shadow Word: Pain on the pull.
Healer- Clear Shadow Word: Pain if you can remove harmful magic. When that is unavailable, continue healing its target through the Shadow ticks rather than treating the melee hit as the end of the damage.
Damage- Finish a surviving Torturer before settling on Vishas. Use an available friendly magic dispel on Shadow Word: Pain to reduce the healer's sustained workload.

Bloodmage Thalnos
Elite UndeadThalnos combines a nearby Fire Nova with targeted Flame Spike burns and Shadow Bolts in the crypt.
Abilities

Fire Nova
Inflicts Fire damage to nearby enemies.
Keep ranged attackers and the healer away from Thalnos's nearby blast; melee players should recover health before closing in again.

Flame Spike
Spread around the crypt so Flame Spike's selected area does not burn the group together. Keep healing players carrying its burn.

Flame Shock
Heal both Flame Shock's initial hit and its continuing burn; leaving Fire Nova's reach does not end this damage.

Shadow Bolt
Hurls a bolt of dark magic at an enemy, inflicting Shadow damage.
Keep Thalnos's target in healing range even when the healer stands back from Fire Nova; Shadow Bolt still reaches a distant target.
Tank- Clear the crypt before engaging Thalnos and keep the fight where the group has room to spread for Flame Spike. Maintain the healer's sightline when moving near the crypt stairs.
Healer- Stand back from Thalnos to reduce Fire Nova exposure. Watch Flame Spike and Flame Shock burns alongside the targeted Shadow Bolt damage; a player who has stepped back may still be taking a burn.
Damage- Spread for Flame Spike instead of stacking beside the healer. Attack from outside Fire Nova's reach when your weapon or spells allow it, and recover before returning to melee.
Library
Follow the Library route through Loksey's kennels and into the book-lined rooms leading to Doan. Clear the approach to Doan's chamber and keep its doorway available for the Detonation retreat. Collect the books for active quests and open Doan's Strongbox before leaving for the locked wings.
Creatures
- Scarlet AdeptElite Humanoid
Scarlet Adepts can restore a wounded enemy with Heal. Assign an interrupt to the Adept while the group finishes its current target, rather than allowing that target to recover during the pull.

Heal
- Scarlet SorcererElite Humanoid
Scarlet Sorcerers combine Blizzard with Slow in the Library corridors. Interrupt Blizzard and leave its selected area; clear these casters before Doan so a movement slow cannot obstruct the retreat from Detonation.

Blizzard

Slow
Slows the enemy's movement by 60% and their attack speed by 54% for 15 seconds.
- Scarlet Tracking HoundElite Beast
Scarlet Tracking Hounds belong to Loksey's pull. Control an unmarked hound or focus the marked one while Loksey's Bloodlust speeds up its attacks; do not spread damage across the pack and leave every hound attacking.

Houndmaster Loksey
Elite HumanoidLoksey's hounds make the opening pull dangerous, particularly when his Bloodlust speeds up an ally's attacks.
Abilities

Bloodlust
Increases an ally's attack speed by 30% for 30 seconds.
Remove Bloodlust from Loksey or a hound with an offensive magic dispel when available; otherwise control or finish the affected hound promptly.
Tank- Collect Loksey and every uncontrolled Tracking Hound on the pull. Use mitigation while Bloodlust is active and the hounds are still attacking together.
Healer- Prepare for the hounds' opening melee damage before their numbers fall. If you can remove beneficial enemy magic, strip Bloodlust from the enemy attacking fastest.
Damage- Focus the marked Tracking Hound rather than splitting attacks across Loksey's pack. Preserve control on another hound and remove Bloodlust when an offensive magic dispel is available.

Arcanist Doan
Elite HumanoidDoan's Arcane Bubble signals a retreat from Detonation, while Silence and Polymorph can deny the healing needed to recover.
Abilities

Arcane Bubble
Stop spending attacks on Arcane Bubble and move toward the cleared doorway; Detonation follows the shield.

Detonation
Everyone, including the tank, retreats into the cleared hall and out of Doan's line of sight before Detonation completes. Return after the blast.

Silence
Silences nearby enemies, preventing them from casting spells for 10 seconds.
Keep the healer away from Doan's nearby Silence area. Restore injured players before the healer loses the ability to cast.

Polymorph
Transforms an enemy into a sheep, forcing it to wander around for up to 20 seconds. While wandering, the sheep cannot attack or cast spells, but regenerates very quickly. Any damage will transform the target back into its normal form. Only one target can be polymorphed at a time. Only works on beasts, dragons, giants, humanoids, and critters.
Use a friendly magic dispel to free a Polymorphed healer when available, especially before the group returns from Detonation.
Tank- Fight inside Doan's chamber with the cleared doorway close enough for the group's retreat. Leave with everyone else when Arcane Bubble appears; remaining beside him for Detonation risks losing the tank during the shield.
Healer- Stand away from Doan's Silence area while keeping the tank in sight. Follow the Detonation retreat and restore the group before returning to the chamber; call for a magic dispel if Polymorph removes you from the fight.
Damage- Move into the cleared hall when Arcane Bubble appears rather than continuing to attack the shield. Break line of sight for Detonation, and free a Polymorphed healer with a friendly magic dispel if you have one.
Armory
Return to the entrance hall and unlock the Armory. Work through its training corridors to Herod's arena, leaving a cleared approach for the Whirlwind retreat. Stay for the Scarlet Trainees that rush in after Herod falls.
Creatures
- Scarlet MyrmidonElite Humanoid
Scarlet Myrmidons become more dangerous under Enrage. Focus an enraged Myrmidon and cover the tank's increased incoming Physical damage instead of extending the pull into another corridor pack.

Enrage
- Scarlet TraineeHumanoid
Scarlet Trainees enter after Herod dies. Regroup at the cleared entrance to the arena, let the tank gather them and then use area damage; leaving immediately after the boss separates the group during this wave.

Herod
<The Scarlet Champion>Elite HumanoidHerod forces the group out of melee during Whirlwind, then leaves a Scarlet Trainee wave to handle after his death.
Abilities

Whirlwind
Attacks nearby enemies in a whirlwind of steel that lasts 10 seconds., inflicting weapon damage plus 0 every 2 sec. Grants the caster temporary magic immunity.
Move the tank, melee attackers and pets beyond the spinning weapon. Herod is immune to magic during Whirlwind; resume magic attacks after it ends.
Tank- Step away from Herod during Whirlwind rather than absorbing the spin. After Herod dies, collect the incoming Scarlet Trainees at the cleared arena entrance before they reach the healer.
Healer- Keep outside Whirlwind while preserving a sightline to players retreating from Herod. When the Trainees arrive, move toward the tank if they turn toward your healing instead of leading them down another corridor.
Damage- Withdraw melee attackers and pets during Whirlwind, and save magic attacks until its immunity ends. Stay after Herod's death and use area damage on the Trainees once the tank has gathered them.
Cathedral
Unlock the Cathedral and clear the courtyard, then the church interior and side aisles before approaching Mograine. Visit Fairbanks in the concealed chamber on the right-hand side before starting the altar encounter. Leave the church clear of Scarlet Abbots for the sleep and resurrection sequence with Whitemane.
Creatures
- Scarlet AbbotElite Humanoid
Scarlet Abbots prolong Cathedral pulls with Heal and Renew. Interrupt Heal and remove Renew from the focused enemy when an offensive magic dispel is available. Finish these healers before approaching the altar.

Heal

Renew

High Inquisitor Fairbanks
Elite UndeadFairbanks combines Curse of Blood's increased Physical damage with a protective shield and Heal in the Cathedral's concealed chamber.
Abilities

Curse of Blood
Remove Curse of Blood from the melee target when curse removal is available; otherwise cover the increased Physical damage with healing and mitigation.

Power Word: Shield
Keep a dedicated interrupt ready for Heal while Power Word: Shield holds; absorbed Physical hits will not delay his casting. This shield is not a target for an offensive magic dispel.

Heal
Calls upon Holy magic to heal an ally.
Interrupt Fairbanks's Heal instead of allowing him to recover behind Power Word: Shield.

Dispel Magic
Dispels magic on the target, removing 1 harmful spell from an ally or 1 beneficial spell from an enemy.
Reapply useful tank buffs after Fairbanks removes them with Dispel Magic.
Tank- Use mitigation while Curse of Blood increases the Physical damage you take. Keep Heal interruption assigned even when Fairbanks is shielded, and request replacement protection if Dispel Magic removes a useful buff.
Healer- Remove Curse of Blood if your abilities allow curse removal; a magic cleanse is not the same effect. Replace protection lost to Dispel Magic and cover the cursed tank's increased melee damage.
Damage- Reserve a direct spell interrupt for Heal rather than relying on attack damage to delay it through Power Word: Shield. Break the shield with damage instead of spending an offensive magic dispel on it.

Defeat Mograine first, survive Whitemane's Deep Sleep, then regain control of both enemies after Scarlet Resurrection.
Abilities

Deep Sleep
Puts nearby enemies to sleep for up to 10 seconds. Any damage caused will awaken them.
Restore the group's health before Whitemane's sleep phase. Healing and tank control can pause until players wake.

Scarlet Resurrection
Scarlet Resurrection brings Mograine back. Prepare to collect both enemies and continue the fight after waking rather than treating his first defeat as the finish.

Heal
Calls upon Holy magic to heal an ally.
Reserve an interrupt for Whitemane's Heal, especially after Mograine returns.

Power Word: Shield
Remove Whitemane's Power Word: Shield with an offensive magic dispel when available, then continue focusing her.

Holy Smite
Smites an enemy, inflicting Holy damage.
Cover Holy Smite's targeted Holy damage while keeping an interrupt available for Heal.

Hammer of Justice
Stuns the target for 5 seconds.
Mograine's Hammer of Justice stuns its target. Keep the tank healthy before a stun prevents active responses during the paired phase.

Retribution Aura
Melee strikes against Mograine can return Holy damage through Retribution Aura; healers need to watch the attackers as well as his melee target.

Crusader Strike
Crusader Strike increases its victim's Holy damage taken. Cover that target carefully while Whitemane is also dealing Holy damage.
Tank- Take Mograine first and be ready to regain control of both enemies after Deep Sleep and Scarlet Resurrection. Account for Hammer of Justice when establishing control again, and use protection while Crusader Strike increases your Holy damage taken.
Healer- Restore health before Deep Sleep removes your ability to act. On waking, cover Mograine's tank through Hammer of Justice and Crusader Strike, while watching melee attackers taking Retribution Aura damage.
Damage- Defeat Mograine first. After the resurrection, focus Whitemane, interrupt Heal and remove her magic shield when possible. Finish Mograine again after Whitemane falls.
