WoW Forever Shaman guide, levels 1 to 20: spells, first talents and Legacy

A Shaman is a Dwarf on the Alliance side and an Orc, Tauren, Troll, or Windshaper Skyborne on the Horde side. Windshaper Skyborne come with the Skyborne Heroic Pack and the packs that include it. Alliance Shaman: the Dwarf Shaman compares their racials. A new Shaman already knows Lightning Bolt and Healing Wave; your class trainer teaches every other spell in the level list, and each new rank, once you reach its level, except the first rank of Stoneskin Totem, Searing Totem and Healing Stream Totem, which the totem quests teach. Your first talent point comes at level 10, or earlier with the Legacy perk Talented.

What does each new spell do?
- Lightning Bolt: Casts a bolt of lightning at the target for 14 to 16 Nature damage.
- Rockbiter Weapon: Imbue the Shaman's weapon, increasing melee attack power by 29 and allowing melee attacks to cause additional threat when using that weapon. Lasts for 60 minutes.
- Healing Wave: Heals a friendly target for 36 to 46.
- Earth Shock: Instantly shocks the target with concussive force, causing 19 to 21 Nature damage. It also interrupts spellcasting and prevents any spell in that school from being cast for 2 seconds. Causes a high amount of threat.
- Stoneskin Totem: Summons a Stoneskin Totem with 5 health at the feet of the caster. The totem protects party members within 30 yards, reducing Physical damage taken by 4. Lasts 5 minutes.
- Earthbind Totem: Summons an Earthbind Totem with 5 health at the feet of the caster for 45 seconds that slows the movement speed of enemies within 10 yards.
- Stoneclaw Totem: Summons a Stoneclaw Totem with 50 health at the feet of the caster for 15 seconds that taunts creatures within 8 yards to attack it.
- Lightning Shield: The caster is surrounded by 3 balls of lightning. When a spell, melee or ranged attack hits the caster, the attacker will be struck for 13 Nature damage. This expends one lightning ball. Only one ball will fire every few seconds. Lasts 10 minutes.

- Fire Nova: Instantly inflicts 48 to 56 fire damage to enemies within 10 yd of your active Fire totem. The October 15 beta update significantly lowers both its base damage and its mana cost.
- Purge: Purges the enemy target, removing 1 magic effect.
- Ancestral Spirit: Returns the spirit to the body, restoring a dead target to life with 65 health and 120 mana. Cannot be cast when in combat.
- Cure Poison: Cures 1 poison effect on the target.
- Tremor Totem: Summons a Tremor Totem with 5 health at the feet of the caster that shakes the ground around it, removing Fear, Charm and Sleep effects from party members within 30 yards. Lasts 5 minutes.

- Frost Shock: Instantly shocks the target with frost, causing 68 to 72 Frost damage and slowing movement speed by 50%. Lasts 8 seconds.

When applied to main hand, disables any benefit you personally receive from Flametongue Totem. Lasts for 60 minutes.
- Frostbrand Weapon: Imbue the Shaman's weapon with frost. Each hit has a chance of causing 32 additional Frost damage and slowing the target's movement speed by 25% for 8 seconds. Lasts for 60 minutes.
