WoW Forever Priest guide, levels 1 to 20: spells, race spells, first talents and Legacy

A Priest is a Human, Dwarf, Night Elf, or Gnome on the Alliance side and an Undead or Troll on the Horde side; Best race for a Priest compares their racials. A new Priest already knows Smite and Lesser Heal; your class trainer teaches every other spell and each new rank once you reach its level. Your first talent point comes at level 10, or earlier with the Legacy perk Talented.

Which spells does a Priest learn at each level up to level 20?

Which spells does each Priest race add?

The class trainer teaches a Priest of each race two spells no other race has, one at each of these levels:

Divine Grace, Desperate Prayer and Starshards gain a new rank at level 18, and Touch of Weakness and Hex of Weakness at level 20. What each of them does: Best race for a Priest.

What does each new spell do?

  • Power Word: Fortitude: Power infuses the target, increasing their Stamina by 4 for 1 hour.
  • Lesser Heal: Heal your target for 46 to 56.
  • Smite: Smite an enemy for 13 to 17 Holy damage.
  • Shadow Word: Pain: A word of darkness that causes 30 Shadow damage over 18 seconds.
  • Power Word: Shield: Draws on the soul of the party member to shield them, absorbing 48 damage. Lasts 30 seconds. While the shield holds, spellcasting will not be interrupted by damage. Once shielded, the target cannot be shielded again for 15 seconds.
  • Renew: Heals the target of 45 damage over 15 seconds.
  • Fade: Fade out, discouraging enemies from attacking you for 10 seconds.
  • Resurrection: Brings a dead player back to life with 70 health and 135 mana. Cannot be cast when in combat.
  • Mind Blast: Blasts the target for 40 to 44 Shadow damage, but causes a high amount of threat.
  • Inner Fire: A burst of Holy energy fills the caster, increasing armor by 315. Each melee or ranged damage hit against the priest will remove one charge. Lasts 10 minutes or until 20 charges are used.
  • Cure Disease: Removes 1 disease from the friendly target.
  • Psychic Scream: The caster lets out a psychic scream, causing 2 enemies within 8 yards to flee for 8 seconds. Damage caused may interrupt the effect.
  • Heal: Heal your target for 260 to 300.
  • Dispel Magic: Dispels magic on the target, removing 1 harmful spell from a friend or 1 beneficial spell from an enemy.
  • Shackle Undead: Shackles the target undead enemy for up to 30 seconds. The shackled unit is unable to move, attack or cast spells. Any damage caused will release the target. Only one target can be shackled at a time.
  • Fear Ward: Wards the friendly target against Fear. The next Fear effect used against the target will fail, using up the ward. Lasts 3 minutes.
  • Flash Heal: Heals a friendly target for 182 to 224.
  • Holy Fire: Consumes the enemy in holy flames that cause 56 to 70 Holy damage and an additional 20 Holy damage over 10 seconds.
  • Devouring Plague: Afflicts the target with a disease that causes 128 Shadow damage over 24 seconds. Damage caused by the Devouring Plague heals the caster.
  • Mind Soothe: Soothes a Humanoid target for a short time, reducing the range at which it will attack you.

Where can your first talent points go?
