WoW Forever Cozy Sleeping Bag: hidden quest route and rewards

The Cozy Sleeping Bag is a hidden quest reward in WoW Forever. Beta players start it at level 14 by clicking a pile of Burned-Out Remains in Westfall (Alliance) or south of Camp Taurajo in the Barrens (Horde), then follow a trail of notes through Stonetalon Mountains, Loch Modan and Hillsbrad Foothills. The last stop hands over the Cozy Sleeping Bag, a Soulbound, Unique rare item whose rest bonus raises the experience you earn by up to 3% for two hours. No quest giver points you to it and no step needs a fight.
Where does the Cozy Sleeping Bag quest start?
Your faction decides the first pile of Burned-Out Remains. Alliance characters find it at the Alexston Farmstead in Westfall, around 37.4, 50.6. Horde characters find it south of Camp Taurajo in the Barrens, around 46.4, 73.9. Clicking it starts “... and that note you found”.
The note sends you to the other faction’s pile. An Alliance character travels to the Barrens spot and a Horde character travels to Westfall. Clicking the second pile completes the first step and starts Stepping Stones. Players report that the chain opens at level 14.
What is the full route after the first note?
From the second pile, every step is one object to click. Both factions follow the same order from here.
- Stonetalon Mountains, on the Webwinder Path around 40.7, 52.4: open the Pocket Litter on a box beside a tent. This completes Stepping Stones and starts Scramble.
- A few steps north, around 39.6, 49.9: search the Mound of Dirt. This completes Scramble and starts Wet Job.
- Loch Modan, on top of the Stonewrought Dam around 49.4, 12.9: pick up the Carved Figurine. This completes Wet Job and starts Eagle’s Fist.
- Hillsbrad Foothills, on Thoradin’s Wall around 87.4, 49.7: climb the cart to reach the wall and open the Messenger Bag. This completes Eagle’s Fist and starts This Must Be The Place.
- In the small room beside the Messenger Bag, open the Hastily Rolled-Up Satchel. This completes the chain.
Horde characters cross Alliance ground at the Stonewrought Dam, so watch for guards there. Plan the travel before you start, because the route spans both continents.
What does each step give you?
Stepping Stones gives a 12-slot Sturdy Lunchbox together with Simple Wood and Flint and Tinder. Those two are exactly what a Basic Campfire needs, so the chain also starts your Camping. A firepit at the Stonetalon camp offers an optional quest, Rekindle, that uses them on the spot.
Scramble adds Student Fodder, and the final satchel adds more Student Fodder with the Cozy Sleeping Bag. Student Fodder reads “Good ol’ raisins and peanuts...and more!” and its Trail Snack effect lets you “make up for lost time on the trail”. Players report that each handful grants rested experience. It has a five-minute cooldown.
How does the Cozy Sleeping Bag work?
The bag’s use is called Unroll Bag. It unfurls a sleeping bag on the ground, and resting inside it for at least one minute grants a stack of Well-Rested. Each stack increases the experience you earn by 1%, up to three stacks, and the buff lasts two hours. The bag itself has a one-hour cooldown, so one unroll per hour keeps the buff running while you play.
Its tooltip reads “Old, but still good”. It is Soulbound and Unique, so each character runs the chain once.
Is the sleeping bag worth an hour of travel?
Worked example: a Horde tauren reaches level 14 near Camp Taurajo and clicks the local remains. The trip to Westfall and back to Stonetalon is the longest leg; the dam and the wall follow on the way north to Hillsbrad. Community timings put the whole route at 45 to 60 minutes.
After that, every play session starts with a one-minute rest and ends two hours later with 3% more experience from every source. The 12-slot bag, the campfire materials and the snacks arrive before the bag itself, so a character who stops halfway still leaves with useful rewards. The chain first appeared in Season of Discovery, and Forever keeps the same quest names and objects.
