WoW Forever’s new world: Skyborne, Hyjal, Riverglades and the road to raids

Forever is a separate, continuing version of WoW built around original Azeroth and the level 1–60 journey. Its announced approach keeps grounded travel and fixed-level zones rather than flying mounts or level scaling.

Regions and Skyborne choices

Hyjal, Shen’dralas, Riverglades and Zephras Isle expand the familiar continents. Skyborne choose their faction at character creation: Horde Skyborne can be Shaman, Alliance Skyborne can be Mages, and both can be Warriors, Hunters, Rogues or Druids.

The Found Photos presentation expands on the setting rather than advancing through the original expansion sequence. It describes an early-Azeroth time bubble, refreshed starting-area stories and ship connections including Stormwind–Auberdine. Powderfuse Port connects Riverglades to a Steamwheedle voyage from Tanaris.

Forsaken paladins have their own local story around Bandarion Keep and a level-60 epic mount quest. These are Forever announcements, not new unlock instructions for modern WoW.

Dungeons, raids and PvP

Nine new dungeons were announced, including Hall of Thanes, Ruins of Lordaeron, City of Dalaran, Blackmaw Hold, the Drowned City, Krol’dok Stronghold, Alcaz Prison, Shaper’s Terrace and an excavation above Whelgar’s Excavation.

The raid plans include 10-player Barrow Deeps and 20-player Hyjal Summit; new raids open December 9. Darkspear Islands is a planned 15-versus-15 battleground. Hardcore is a later addition, not a launch promise.

Start with the beta’s actual available content; announced world content and the current test are not the same inventory.
