WoW Forever Wolf’s Bane: the Forsaken paladin’s level 20 weapon quest

Wolf’s Bane is the level 20 class quest weapon for Forsaken paladins in WoW Forever. The chain starts in Silverpine Forest, sends you through three dungeons for an Enchanted Silver Ingot, Whitestone Oak Lumber and a Purified Kor Gem, and ends with a fight against Old Fire Eye near the gates of Gilneas. The finished weapon deals extra Holystorm damage to wolves and worgen, which is exactly what Silverpine Forest is full of.
Where do Forsaken paladins get their class quests?
Undead characters can be paladins in Forever. Their class story lives at Bandarion Keep, a new keep in the Whispering Wood of northwestern Tirisfal Glades. Forsaken paladins are pointed there around level 10 and return each time a new class quest unlocks, while leveling through Tirisfal, Silverpine and the rest of the Horde route. Blizzard has announced that the Forsaken paladin story ends with an epic charger quest at level 60.
How do you start the Wolf’s Bane quest?
Players who finished the chain report that it begins in Silverpine Forest by rescuing Lumina Windsinger from Fenris Isle and returning her to safety. Trevan then explains the weapon, and the three materials follow.
Which dungeons does the Wolf’s Bane chain need?
- The Enchanted Silver Ingot comes from Shadowfang Keep.
- The Whitestone Oak Lumber comes from The Deadmines, far from home in Westfall.
- The Purified Kor Gem comes from Blackfathom Deeps. Players report that a quest from Olric Frostvale in Ashenvale has to come first.
The ingot, the lumber, the gem and the Moonsilver Blade they combine into all exist as items in the game. The ingot and the gem are Unique quest items, so each paladin gathers their own.
Players report that Orrt, a weaponsmith in Tarren Mill, forges the materials into the Moonsilver Blade. The last step is to defeat Old Fire Eye near the Gilneas gates in Silverpine Forest, after which Lumina Windsinger empowers the blade into Wolf’s Bane.
What does Wolf’s Bane do?
Beta players describe a slow weapon with 3.4 speed, a top-end hit of 105, 10 Strength and 9 Stamina. Its effect deals extra Holystorm damage and hits wolves and worgen hardest. The matching effect in the game files, Blazewind Blast, reads “Sear the target with a vortex of blazing wind, dealing 49 Holystorm damage. Deals 3 times as much damage to Wolves and Worgen.”
That makes it a weapon built for its own zone. Silverpine Forest and Shadowfang Keep are full of worgen and wolves, and a Forsaken paladin finishes the chain right where the bonus damage counts most.
How should a Forsaken paladin plan the chain?
Worked example: a level 20 Forsaken paladin in Silverpine rescues Lumina Windsinger first, because it opens the chain and costs nothing. Shadowfang Keep is next door, so the silver ingot comes from a group run there. Blackfathom Deeps needs the Ashenvale quest first, and The Deadmines means a long trip to Westfall, so group those two runs when a group is already heading south. Old Fire Eye waits back in Silverpine, close to where the chain began.
Build the retribution side of your paladin in the paladin talent calculator, including Holy Strike, and plan each dungeon’s other drops in the loot planners for Shadowfang Keep and The Deadmines. The game files also hold a paladin-only rare sword named Blade of Bandarion, whose source has not been found yet. Every WoW Forever secret found so far lists more hidden rewards.
