WoW Forever dungeon loot: plan your upgrade run

A Deadmines trip for two level 17 rings is Gilnid plus Mr. Smite. Gilnid drops Lavishly Jeweled Ring. Mr. Smite drops First Mate Band. Open The Deadmines from dungeon loot and mark the items you want. The instance card groups those marks into one run. No drop chance is listed, so the plan is which bosses to see, not how many times to clear.
Which boss has the item?
Lavishly Jeweled Ring is on Gilnid, with Smelting Pants. First Mate Band is on Mr. Smite, with Smite's Mighty Hammer, Thief's Blade and Smite's Reaver. Gold-plated Buckler is on Miner Johnson, with Miner's Cape. The hammer is Mr. Smite's two-handed mace, not a second Gilnid drop.
Mark what you intend to use. The list on the side is the goal set, and the Deadmines card shows the marked items from that instance. A plate bracer from another dungeon stays on that dungeon's card. Trash is its own listing when the item says so. Defias Renegade Ring is Stockade trash, not a Deadmines boss. Open the dungeon named on the item.
How do you narrow loot and keep the marks?
The slot control only changes what you are looking at. Choose finger and The Deadmines keeps the two rings while hiding the hammer and the buckler. Choose Main hand and the weapon drops appear while the rings wait. Return to all slots and the bosses come back.
The marks stay. They live on the plan, not on the slot control. If a filter matches nothing, the page says so and says your acquisition goals have been kept. Clear the filter. You do not mark the rings again. "My acquisition goals" shows only marked items, and turning it off returns the rest of the table without clearing marks. The find box matches dungeon, boss and item together. A search that hides a boss does not unmark that boss's items.
What belongs on this run?
See Gilnid and Mr. Smite for the two rings. Add Miner Johnson if you still want Gold-plated Buckler as an off-hand. Keep the hammer and buckler as alternative goals when you want both options: equipment comparison will not equip a two-handed mace and an off-hand shield together. The loot page will still let you mark both. Marking is the wish list. Equipping is the gear check: the hammer requires level 18, and both rings require level 17.
Share link copies this page's address, including the plan that holds the goals and any slot or search values already there. The recipient sees the same marks. Changing the slot later changes what is visible and does not empty the marks. If the link no longer matches the items on the page, the page keeps the plan you already had.
The other Deadmines bosses stay available when you are not filtering: Rhahk'Zor, Sneed's Shredder, Sneed, Cookie, Captain Greenskin, Edwin VanCleef and the trash table. Mark from those tables when the item is one you will use. The card groups the marks. It does not make a boss mandatory because a drop exists.
What do you open after the marks?
Read each marked item's slot, level and bonuses, then place the legal ones in equipment comparison: one ring on each finger, and the hammer only with an empty off-hand and a high enough level. A goal with a recipe or quest source does not automatically belong to a dungeon run. Follow its named acquisition source instead.
Start from the name in item sources and crafting uses when you do not yet know the boss. Settle the slot conflict in gear upgrades before you treat every mark as something one character can wear together.
