Talebound preview: macabre stories, three classes and a return to Quillgrave

Talebound is an upcoming Midnight PvE action-RPG mode for solo play or friends. Blizzard plans an early PTR preview in October; that is not a confirmed live release date.

Choose how you fight

Slayer mixes a sword with firearms, Inquisitor uses holy power, and Witch brings spells built around lightning, poison and creatures. All three can double-jump, dodge and guard. They are Talebound classes, not additions to the normal WoW class selector.

Between the tales

Quillgrave is the return hub, with the Arcanist, Scribe, Outfitter and Antiquarian improving the options for another attempt. The starting stories are Darkhaven, Greenthistle Wood, Greywake’s Expedition and Grove of the Night Court.

Announced rewards include the Witch Hunter’s Shadow Attire, haunted housing décor and the Shadowbound Storybook mount for use in Midnight and beyond.

The Midnight roadmap places Talebound alongside other upcoming adventures. No current retail talent build or dungeon route should be read as a Talebound build.
